Two years ago we had the idea of creating a North East Norfolk league web site to promote the league and give our valued sponsors publicity. During the discussions about its basic format we decided to add a forum section. We sought advice from various people involved in sports website around the country and the advice generally given was that in principle they were a good idea. However almost all those asked said that after a short time their forum was ruined by people submitting libelous, slanderous and generally insulting material. However, we ignored this advice only to find that after a promising start the quality of submissions was deteriorating and after warnings from the F.A. we closed it down. As the result of several requests we reopened it and incorporated a vetting system to control the site if necessary. Unfortunately we are now back to the situation where we are receiving complaints from some readers and other parties. In addition several people have said they won't contribute to it due to some of the childish items on it. |
